Vinimanta

This is a geomembrane, a PVC liner designed to prevent water loss through seepage in tanks, reservoirs, ponds, manure lagoons, irrigation canals for water storage, irrigation systems for horticulture and floriculture, and units for the production of aquatic organisms under intensive management. Sansuy’s Vinimanta was also the first geomembrane used in Brazil in infrastructure projects, with numerous references in usage and technology for construction, waterproofing works, tunnels, subway stations, lakes, among other applications. Here are some segments that use Vinimanta.

Agribusiness

Manure lagoon: Sansuy’s Vinimanta plays an important role in the biodigestion process and in waterproofing the manure lagoon. It is installed in excavated soil, as well as on the walls and bottom of the biodigester. It lines the manure lagoon that receives the effluent, preventing soil contamination. A manure lagoon lined with Sansuy’s Vinimanta is synonymous with erosion elimination, reduced impact on neighboring properties, and greater peace of mind when irrigating various crops.
Pond and irrigation canals: Recommended for waterproofing canals mechanically protected with concrete. Examples include the following canals: São Francisco River Transposition, Cinturão das Águas, Salitre Canal, Pontal Sul, Jaíba, Formoso A, and Formoso H. PVC is ideal for this application due to its perfect flatness. Another feature of this material is its excellent adhesion to concrete, allowing the use of higher slump concrete (softer concrete). In these applications, we have the option of manufacturing the material to custom measurements, allowing installation by the user in the case of small units.

Fish farming

With a strong focus on aquaculture, Sansuy offers an integrated system for raising aquatic organisms in tanks or excavated ponds, lined and waterproofed with Vinimanta. This is a geomembrane — a PVC liner designed to prevent water loss through seepage in tanks, reservoirs, ponds, lagoons, and production units for aquatic organisms under intensive management.

Sanitation

Waterproofing the base of landfills, preventing contamination of groundwater sources. It is also used to cover waste for stormwater containment, providing the benefits of reduced leachate and better biogas utilization. Technical literature also considers it the best solution for landfill covering due to its flexibility, allowing it to perfectly adapt to differential settlement of solid waste.

WTP – Water Treatment Plant
Deflector curtains for WTPs (Water Treatment Plants), made of PVC fabric specially developed for this purpose. Compatible with potable water, UV-resistant, and made with low-capillarity polyester fabric, they are used in the sedimentation of particulate matter present in the water, offering excellent performance and easy maintenance.

WWTP – Wastewater Treatment Plant
PVC fabric deflector curtains for WWTPs (Wastewater Treatment Plants), designed to direct gas in UASB/RALF systems. They offer excellent performance and easy maintenance.

Waste tanks
The PVC geomembrane can be formulated according to the characteristics of the effluent to be stored, ensuring a longer service life and system safety. Another feature is the ease of reservoir maintenance due to the material’s excellent weldability.

Transporte

Waterproofing of underground structures such as subway tunnels, highways, railways, basements, metro stations, parking garages, and ventilation shafts. This system was applied in the São Paulo metro, based on European standards, and tested and approved in trials conducted at the Geosynthetics Laboratory of the School of Engineering at USP São Carlos.

Civil Construction

Waterproofing of slabs, water reservoirs, water surfaces, terraces, and basements—either in the rehabilitation of existing buildings or in new projects. The PVC liner is highly flexible and easy to install, adapting easily to obstacles and providing a faster, cleaner, and safer installation. With an expected service life of around 30 years, it is a more suitable and durable system compared to rigid systems.
Roofing
PVC liner reinforced with polyester mesh for waterproofing metal roofs and concrete slabs. Due to the ease of handling the material, installation is fast and clean, without the need for flame application. For this use, no mechanical protection over the PVC liner is required, as it is already formulated to withstand weathering. The PVC liner provides greater flexibility in roof rehabilitation without interrupting the client’s operations, especially in high-traffic areas such as shopping centers, commercial complexes, convention centers, universities, and hospitals. This solution can be applied to the restoration of existing roofs or in new projects, for areas with controlled traffic. The light-colored material offers excellent thermal comfort due to its superior heat reflection and can also be produced with special embossing for enhanced architectural appeal.

Características

Made from a compound of PVC, additives, plasticizers, and stabilizers that give it unique flexibility and strength properties, Sansuy’s Vinimanta is suitable for waterproofing reservoirs and as a barrier against infiltration and loss of water or organic waste. For aquaculture, it is supplied with a specific formulation for the production of aquatic organisms. Vinimanta is manufactured in panels or modules, as detailed in the executive projects developed for each application, aiming to reduce on-site welding operations and minimize installation time and labor costs. Vinimanta can also be supplied with a bonded non-woven geotextile, providing greater mechanical resistance to punctures and soil irregularities, as well as enhanced dimensional stability.
